Needless to say, all preemies less than 35 weeks and \/ or weighing less than 2 kgs with the below risk factors must be screened within the first 30 days of life.\u00a0<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-748 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.agashehospital.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/rop-1-300x290.png\" alt=\"Retinopathy of prematurity\" width=\"300\" height=\"290\" \/><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\">Did you know that there are risk factors other than oxygen which may cause worsening of ROP?<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #333399;\">These are apnea, anemia, sepsis, multiple transfusions, administration of surfactant, poor post natal weight gain &amp; intraventricular hemorrhage.<\/span><\/h3>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&#8216;Paediatric Pearls of Wisdom\u2019 is an initiative by Agashe Paediatric SuperSpeciality Care for general practitioners and pediatricians.
